VI. Ground Level
Once you've returned from LINC Space, use the ID card in the LINC terminal and read the three decrypted documents, then select Security Service, Special Operations and Special State Request, to grant yourself the privileges to access the ground level. Use the lift near the Belle Vue apartments to do so.
Joey won't survive the transition to the ground floor, so pick up his circuit board from the robot shell, you'll be able to reuse it later.
Walk around the ground floor for a while and talk to everyone nearby, the gardener, Mrs. Piermont, the club doorman and the guard at the church. Exhaust all available conversation options to learn as much as you can at this point.
Once you've learned a little bit more, go to the lowest section of the ground floor near the pool and look for a small building there. Examine the door and its lock, you can open it with the ID Card. Go inside and you'll find a pair of secateurs.
Go back to the pub entrance at the other side of the ground level and talk to the doorman there again, and ask about membership there. Mrs. Piermont will sponsor you for membership if you meet with her in her apartment. Her apartment is on the right hand side of the ground floor, you can use the intercom system to get in. She will talk with you for a while and will eventually phone the bar to gain you access there. Use the video cassette from Lamb's apartment on the level above in the VCR to distract the dog, then pick up the dog biscuits from the bowl nearby.
You should be able to go into the bar now, so go in and talk to all of the staff and customers there. At the back of the bar room you'll see a small door with a metal plate, examine it and discuss it with the barman.
Go back up into daylight and then to the building site near the church and elevator. Use the dog biscuits you collected from the apartment with the plank and wait for Mrs. Piermont and her dog to arrive. When the dog waits near the plank, pull the rope to lower the plank, tipping the dog into the pool, which will distract the guard.
While the guard is busy, enter the church. Look through the lockers in the church basement area, you'll find Anita's corpse, she appears to have suffered from radiation poisoning. Return to the upper levels and discuss this with Gilbert Lamb.
Once you've passed on the bad news, go into the safety room in the factory. Open the locker there and exchange your clothes for the overalls there, then go into the control room. Use the control panel and open the reactor door, then take Anita's LINC Card from the ground near the reactor core and leave the factory.
Return to the police headquarters and use Anita's card to enter LINC space. You'll arrive in areas similar to those you found on your last visit, but have a different set of functions available to you, including the ability to temporarily disable the security eyeballs. Your first task is to get the tuning fork, visible on the small platform in the first room. You must blind the eyeball and then take the north portals as quickly as you can through several rooms. Eventually you'll arrive at the small platform with the tuning fork and can (hopefully) collect it before the security eyeball reopens.
Once you've got the tuning fork, return to the circular room immediately before it and use the data well to playback the data stored on Anita's card. Leave LINC Space and use the terminal to read all the other data on the card, and then return to the ground level.
Having seen the information on Anita's card, you'll know you must find someone named Eduardo. Speak with the boy and the gardener on the ground floor, and eventually you will realise that the gardener is Eduardo, and is simply using the gardener's role as a cover.
Move over to the left hand side of the ground level and enter the court, you will witness a trial.
Once you've followed the trial in the court, go back to the bar and go over to the jukebox. Choose the option “You search, but find nothing”, the jukebox is faulty and will play on repeat. Eventually one of the bar staff will go over to look at it. As they do, quickly grab the empty glass from the table to dust for fingerprints, then take it to Burke's surgery on the middle level.
When you arrive at the surgery, ask Burke to perform an operation on your fingers to change your prints to match those on the glass, then go back to the pub and you can enter the cellars at the back using the metal plate.
Use the metal bar to break open the packing case in the cellar, take the lid and place it on the box under the grill. Climb onto the box, break open the grill using the crowbar and use the secateurs to cut it open, then climb through to reach the subway.
